Advice to Management More hours. Advice to Management Stack ranking is a horrible practice since it's rife with favoritism. I did not like working there too stressful manager was not a nice person and with bad attitude did not train me very well at all and lots of the time found myself just standing around. I was only seasonal and it was pretty chaotic threw most of the season but most people where nice and friendly i did not feel like they explain your job very well. They would have classes and get u safety certified and all the other needed requirments for what you where hired for but once those first three days over classes are over i felt like i was just thrown into the chaotic mix where it was busy and being new didnt know all the in and out of what or how or where or when i was suppose to do.

The office that comes to you
This company gets A list performance from C list employees. The culture is quick and hard charging. You are always working in relevant and meaningful projects. Maybe because the company recruits C listers who have neither merit intelligence, strategic vision nor pedigree academic or professional accomplishments , most of those who become successful do so in treacherous, low cunning ways.
This is every day leadership behavior at Amazon. The culture at Amazon is so infested with these middling talent weasels who have juked the stats and schemed their way to positions of power that new employees coming in actually start thinking that this behavior is normal and expected if you want to "manage people.
Any left leaning political aspirant would look at this business organism and immediately have content to lash out against the corruption that can come in free enterprise where hard work is not rewarded, and the connected, incestuous, privileged class lounge their way to wealth while treating their employees and customers like some kind of filth their shoe picked up on the street.
There is nothing I can write here that you would deign listen to, because you are a hack. You must be mad that Expedia beat you to the punch and hired Chelsea Clinton to serve on their board of directors. For those grasping Weasels that have squirmed and back stabbed your way to success, you know who you are. You won't care what is written here because "You got yours, Eff them. It is the only means to be safe.
Great starting pay and the ability to get raises very quickly. Full training in all areas are offered and if your willing to work hard and sweat everyday for 10 hours a day, 4 days a week, then this is the job for you. The 4 day weeks go by quick, it can be exhausting so proper rest and a healthy lifestyle will help you stay strong within this company. Beat benefits as well once you are a hired on as a full time employee. Your expected to want to move up in the company and that is the only way to make a better hourly wage, by advancing into management and operations management positions if there are any openings.
The culture and reputation of amazon will never change unless you want it to and set the tone from the top. Try using some customer obsession with employees- as management, employees are YOUR customers. Also, there is visible lack of women or minorities in any leadership role compared to pretty much every other large company in Seattle.
Seems like you have to try really hard in a city as diverse as this to be so undiverse. Benefits, sweat, competition, overtime, sometimes fun, 3 days off. Pay tops out at warehouse normal, long days, stressful peak, forced overtime managers that only care about hitting their numbers.
Listen to your associates, build your team better instead of only caring about yourself, fight for your teams success. If your not good with a fast pace or change and just like status quo or decision by debate or deliberation this is not the place for you.

Pros I've been at Amazon for a month now, and I've seen none of the horror stories being communicated to the public, although Amazon is a large enough company that I'm sure there are good pockets and bad pockets.
Cons No cons, so far - seriously. Flag as Inappropriate Flag as Inappropriate. Cons No cons, seriously! Join the Amazon team. See Our Latest Jobs. Pros Really smart people, a lot of opportunity for growth, always encouraged to be innovative, think big, and create something new. Cons You have to be self motivated. Advice to Management More on-boarding training before new employees are thrown in the fire. Pros Jeff Bezos and his "S-Team" are brilliant and continue to make great decisions for long-term growth.
Cons The management process is abusive, and I'm currently a manager. Advice to Management Don't pretend that the recent NY Times article was all about "isolated incidents". Pros Amazon is doing lot's of cool stuff Cons - You're responsible for your own career progression and finding the places and teams that are doing the stuff you want to do.

Pros Great starting pay and the ability to get raises very quickly. Pros - super smart people, the best of the best from schools - if you get hired here, you will be hirable anywhere, recruiting process is tough - the pay is above average, probably 1. Cons - frugality is taken to the extreme, only 2 weeks vacation, parking takes a year or more to get, zero perks not even free Prime , no fitness allowance, poor k - your peers will stab you in the back, your manager will blame you for their errors, you can't trust anyone - people who throw others under the bus and take credit for other people's work get promoted - expectations 60 hours a week, some teams expect Sunday to be an "in the office day", headcount never gets filled, teams are always short a few people but the work keeps piling on.

Advice to Management Listen to your associates, build your team better instead of only caring about yourself, fight for your teams success. Cant take a break nor a lunch break in order to try to keep pace. They pretend to not know that breaks are federally mandated.
In order to complete route I didnt eat nor drink for 10 hrs and didnt use a bathroom break. The gps is erratic and office dispatch calls to say pick up pace when you already have been busting your rear. I guarantee Amazon has been planting positive reviews on this site because the turnover rate on this job speaks to the vastly pervasive poor conditions.
Cool place to work but Being that Amazon is the number 1 you would think the pay is great. Benefits package is awesome which starts on day one so that's good. Workplace culture is cool.
The hardest part is the long hours especially when it's not peak season. Management could be better. Fun productive place to work , I love working for Amazon. I love working for this Company, Amazon because I can make my own hours and I make a lot of money. They really treat me in a respectful way, treat me great! Always ask me if I need assistance on anything I am doing. I get free lunches, eat at what time I choose, breaks are when and as often as you need them.
A nice job, but they could pay more. I like the job, but I wasn't a fan of Management and how they run projects in there.
I was a Problem Solver and I liked my role, but it took almost a year for hem to finally put me on as a Problem Solver. The place also tends to only move people around if its in demand, if nothing was available, you were stuck doing the same job for as long as you work there. I did not like working there too stressful manager was not a nice person and with bad attitude did not train me very well at all and lots of the time found myself just standing around.
Fast paced environment with consistent everyday tasks. After getting a job at Amazon the options provided are threshold based meaning you must be exceptional at the job they give you in order to change positions.
This posed as a problem for me as I had difficulty meeting their high standards and resulted in me having to look for employment elsewhere. Otherwise it was a very beneficial working experience that pays very well.
At home call center. I worked 10 shift 4 days a week. Amazon is a good company to work for. I believe they should increase the pay rate. The one bad thing was poor management skills. Hard to advance, short breaks, and long overtime hours!
Must be a Hard Working productive person or you won't last long! Advancement is very difficult and the management is on a constant movement Need to treat employees better! Good entry level job. It's a good job but very underpaid and very overworked. Not many hours are available weekly so its hard to maintain if you have grown up responsibilities.
Enjoyable with helpful associates. You'll mainly be doing scans and stacking of the boxes until you level up. It['s really easy honestly. Great place to work at. It was hard to work because of rate, but it was no stressful job.
Also even though they have to work hard, they don't pay good and raising is so little. Benefits was great, but they should raise their salary more.
